Just a semi-pointless post to remind everyone how lucky we are to have this site, and its high caliber admin/moderators. I was posting on a car audio site and asking questions about enclosure design. I would post a question that was totally different and unrelated to anything I had asked before and the moderators would delete my posts and add them to the end of my first post, saying they all related to an enclosure for my 300ZX so should all be in one post. Of course this is UBB-crap board, so you can’t see any new “topics” unless you read the entire thread. So of course no-one sees my questions or answers them. The first problem was that my first thread topic was sort of far-out, a question that only a specialized few people would know about. Kind of like if I asked “If I’m running brand X injectors and increase the fuel flow rate by 1.2 lb/min how much more exhaust heat will be generated, all else being equal?” That’s a totally fictitious question, but you get the point. Anyone opening that thread would read my first post and then one or two responses and not knowing anything about injectors or exhaust heat generation, and not caring about either, would quit reading and close the thread. That person would never see that on page 2 (since the mods lumped all my shit together) I asked what tire pressure was good for AutoXing, even though they may be an autoX god and love to answer my question and help me with information.I would even post “moderators please do not delete this message or add it to my other post, it is a 100% different topic” and they would still lump my shit together. After they put all my shit in one post it only got 20 hits in 30+ hours, and not a single answer to my questions, which were not complicated. I posted on the site “forum questions” board and the asked why they kept putting my posts together and explained that clearly they were totally different topics and no-one would read the crap at the end of the post as evidenced by the lack of hits. They said, paraphrasing, ‘if we left all posts related to a topic stand without consolidating them the forum would be “ridiculous and useless.”’ I counted the topics and there were only 51 topics with a 24 hr period date on them. So, let’s just triple that for replies and that’s 150 posts and they are worried about the board becoming “ridiculous and useless” LAME. I went to another audio forum and posted my questions separately and got answers in less than 90 mins. I posted back on the original forum that I got my questions answered elsewhere without any crap for posting the questions separately and that TTnet has 30,000+ members and we don’t have a problem with the forum becoming “ridiculous and useless” and pointed out that it would be “ridiculous” if on TTnet we had to put every one of our posts under 1 topic since every post was related to our 300ZX. I said that nicely to point out that they were way off base. Of course that thread got nuked. Just really, F-ing, LAME. That’s my bitch, just be glad TTnet isn’t like that…..
